A Sunday of Fun, Games, and Gratitude!
There are few things more rewarding than seeing a community come together to support something they love—and that’s exactly what happened at our annual show in July 2024. But before we dive back into the hustle and bustle of theatre life, we knew we had to do something special to recognize the incredible people who made it all possible. And so, The Big Thank You event was born!
A Celebration of Our Theatre Family
On a sunny Sunday afternoon, 150 of our closest friends, family, and supporters gathered at The Sugarbeat garden for a day of fun, laughter, and most importantly, gratitude. It was our way of saying a massive THANK YOU to everyone who gave up their time, energy, and perhaps a bit of their sanity, to help make The Anglia Region Theatre School’s annual show a roaring success.
Whether it was chaperoning the little ones, transporting props and costumes, managing the front-of-house, or simply being there with a smile and a helping hand, your efforts did not go unnoticed. And what better way to show our appreciation than with a day filled with free food, garden games, and a whole lot of joy?
Games, Grins, and Grateful Hearts
Thanks to the wonderfully quirky folks at Wonky Donkey Games, the garden was transformed into a playground for both the young and the young-at-heart. From the classic coconut shy (which proved trickier than it looked!) to the hilariously challenging stand-the-bottle-up game, there was no shortage of fun to be had.
Who could forget the pirate hoops, where even the most seasoned swashbucklers found themselves laughing at the unpredictable twists and turns? And if you thought the kids had all the fun, think again—our chaperones and helpers were right in the thick of it, proving that you’re never too old to enjoy a good game of toss-the-ring.
As the games went on, so did the laughter, creating a buzz of excitement that filled the garden and made the day one to remember. The smell of delicious food wafted through the air, keeping everyone fueled up for more fun, and the camaraderie among our theatre family was palpable.
A Picture-Perfect Day
We couldn’t resist snapping a few photos of the day, capturing the smiles, the silliness, and the spirit of The Big Thank You. It was clear from the grins on everyone’s faces that the event was a hit, and we hope each and every person who attended felt the appreciation we tried to convey.
From the youngest cast members to the seasoned pros who’ve been with us for years, the atmosphere was one of joy and togetherness. It’s not often we get to relax and unwind as a group, so this was a much-needed and well-deserved break for everyone.
A Heartfelt Thank You
As the sun began to set and the games wound down, it was time to say goodbye—but not before one last round of thank-yous. We truly cannot express how much it means to have such a dedicated and passionate group of people supporting The Anglia Region Theatre School. Your hard work and commitment are what make our shows possible, and for that, we are endlessly grateful.
We hope you all had as much fun as we did at The Big Thank You, and that you left with full hearts and maybe a new appreciation for your coconut-shy skills! Here’s to many more shows, many more laughs, and many more opportunities to celebrate this wonderful community we’ve built together.
Until next time, thank you for everything!
P.S. If you didn’t make it to the event, don’t worry—we’ll be sharing some of those fun photos on our social media soon. Keep an eye out, and let’s keep the spirit of gratitude going all year round!
