Magical Mayhem with Matilda

A Day of Singing, Dancing & Pure Joy!

What a revoltingly good time we had! On Sunday, The Anglia Region Theatre School was absolutely buzzing with excitement as we welcomed young performers of all ages for not one, not two, but three magical Matilda The Musical workshops.

From the moment the first note rang out to the final bow, it was clear – this was going to be a day to remember.

Led by our fabulous guest teacher and former ARTS pupil Stan Doughty – a real-life West End star who’s graced the stages of Mary Poppins, Dirty Dancing, Matilda, Hello Dolly, and more – the children were swept into the whirlwind world of Matilda. With energy, humour, and world-class talent, Stan brought the west End sparkle right into our studios. The kids were absolutely captivated, and it wasn’t long before they were belting out "Naughty" and twirling across the floor like true professionals.

Across all three workshops, we were blown away by the confidence, creativity, and sheer joy pouring out of every student. Whether they were stomping in time to "Revolting Children" or acting out scenes with cheeky grins, each child got to feel like a star for the day. It was heartwarming to see new friendships formed, shy smiles turn into beaming grins, and so many little feet dancing like nobody was watching!
