All About Nia
My name is Nia Jermin and I am currently appearing in the Tony and Olivier Award winning musical Legally Blonde which is touring the UK this year.
The show is coming to Norwich Theatre Royal from Tuesday 28th February til Saturday 10th March.
I have been a professional performer in Musical Theatre for 5 years having trained at Arts Education London graduating with a BA Hons. I have gained credits in the West End and on National Tours with shows Les Miserables, South Pacific, Singin' In The Rain and Chicago. I began my career at an early age appearing in films Love Actually and About a Boy and television programmes Doc Martin (ITV) and STUPID (CBBC) after attending drama and dance classes in a school just like your own.
My workshop classes consist of me doing a short but fun and energetic warmup with your students and then teaching them some of the actual routines from the show Legally Blonde giving them an insight into the choreography and style of the show. I often break the classes down into smaller groups at the end to maybe perform for each other and maybe their parents right at the end? I will also like to have a 'Question and Answer' session at the end of each class if the students are interested in learning about what it is like being a professional performer, the type of lifestyle and what you have to do to get auditions/get into the right dance college etc.
I am a highly experienced teacher in Musical Theatre having trained at many performing arts establishments including Sylvia Young Theatre School, Ravenscourt Theatre School, The Mark Jermin Stage School, The Theatre Workshop, Eastbourne and Bexhill, Brighton Young Performers and West End Summer School. I have also staged numbers for a number of various productions at these theatre schools and have also choreographed on a bigger scale such as the Opening Ceremony for the 2010 Ryder Cup, at the Milennium Stadium Cardiff, with 250 young performers on stage at once!
I hold a valid CRB and am also a licensed Children Chaperone for Children in Entertainment having worked with children for many years.
My Legally Blonde workshop/classes can cater for different ages and abilities having taught at various levels in the past, I will also bring my own music and props.
I look forward to seeing you there.
