LISA ARNUP A.N.A.T.D, B.A (hons.)

Lisa first started dancing at ARTS (previously known as the Janet Wright School of Dance) in 1990 at the age of four. She has grown up at A.R.T.S and has seen the school develop from small classes in the local leisure centres to the school that it is today.

As A.R.T.S began to grow Lisa became more involved in the everyday life of the school, student teaching and helping where she could, and because of this dedication Lisa was awarded the extremely prestigious position of the very first A.R.T.S Head Girl in 2004.

Becoming Head Girl gave Lisa a lot more responsibility throughout the school and also gave her the confidence to pursue her dream of becoming a qualified dance teacher. Lisa continued studying and qualified as a Freestyle dance teacher in 2006 and a Modern dance teacher in 2008, she hopes to pursue this dream further and continue her studies to train as a Ballet and Tap teacher in the very near future.

Alongside her dancing studies Lisa has also continued with her academic studies outside of A.R.T.S. and has achieved a B.A (hons.) in Contemporary Textile Practices in 2009 after three years of hard work. During this time Lisa also became qualified as a Y.M.C.A Exercise to Music fitness instructor in 2009.

During her time at A.R.T.S Lisa has been involved in many extremely exciting opportunities both as a student/performer and as a teacher, she has seen both herself and many hundreds of children participating, learning, achieving and growing in confidence and it is because of this experience that Lisa has decided that she wants to work with children both in dance, education and the community.

Currently Lisa is working at The Clare School, a specialist physical and sensory special school for children aged 3 to 19. She also works for both South Norfolk County and Norfolk County Council as a workshop tutor and play worker.

As well as dancing and teaching at the school, Lisa also works as part of the office team at A.R.T.S.
