Hannah Catchpole – A.N.A.T.D

Since joining the Janet Wright School of Dance at the age of 7 Hannah has seen the school go from strength to strength, starting with 1 day a week in the leisure centre to moving into our own premises (when the school changed its name to ARTS) and then continuing to grow to what we are today.

Through the years Hannah has been involved in many productions with ARTS including the annual school shows, performances at several West End theatres and The Royal Albert Hall, and having our own performance time in Disneyland Resort Paris. Hannah now teaches 7 different classes throughout the week with a main focus on the junior school, alongside still studying in her own dance classes. In 2006 Hannah was awarded with the title of Head Girl making her the second head girl the school had ever had and in 2008 gained a distinction in her modern associate. She now intends on gaining associate levels in other dance styles.

Hannah studied dance for 2 years at college gaining a BTEC National Diploma in Performing Arts (dance). While at college she studied may aspects of the performing arts and dance world including: Ballet, Tap, Jazz, Contemporary, Physical Theatre, Musical Theatre, Singing, Choreography, Technical Theatre and Performing Arts in business/context. During her time at college she gained invaluable experience and knowledge on the performing arts industry and hopes that she is successful in passing this knowledge on to the students at ARTS.

Through the years Hannah has worked with several professional choreographers, performers and companies including: Northern Ballet Company, Stephen Mear, Norfolk Dance and several West End cast members.

Other credits include modelling for Matrix hair products and appearing in an ‘Island film Group’ movie – Princess Ka’iulani (also known as the Barbarian Princess) which has already been launched in Hawaii and by the European Film market. As well as doing productions with many local amateur dramatic groups and being a member of a local casting/modelling agency.

During the day Hannah is the Supervisor of a major high street retailer and has been able to liaise between them and ARTS providing them with dancers and models for events such as Christmas parades and seasonal fashion shows.

Hannah is very proud to be a part of the ARTS family.
