Deputy Head Girl 2010:
Emily Rout
Hello everyone and my name is Emily. I can’t even describe how much of a shock it was to be chosen as the new ARTS deputy head girl! I am so grateful to be given this opportunity to represent the school.
I have been attending ARTS since the age of 5 and still love it now. It is so strange to look back at me and my class mates in the ARTS photo albums queuing up for our first rainbow awards in our little costumes!! At ARTS I have done lessons in ballet, modern, tap, singing and street and this has helped me find a love for performing and has helped me decide what I want to do with my future. In September I started an intensive dance course as well as attending ARTS in the evenings. I never stop! This course along with ARTS will hopefully enable me to get into Dance College next year.
I can honestly say I have thoroughly enjoyed every pantomime, every blues brother’s performance, every singing concert and every ARTS show and have made so many really good friends in the process. ARTS has always been such a big part of my life and has helped me progress so far in many ways.
Recently I have been acting as a student teacher at ARTS and really enjoy sharing what I have learnt with all the younger students. It is a really rewarding experience for me. I hope to continue with this and help everyone I teach get the butterflies I feel every time I perform.
