HEAD GIRL 2007 - 2008
HANNAH CATCHPOLE
I have been attending classes at ARTS (previously known as the Janet Wright School of Dance) since the age of 7. Throughout my time here I have had some great experiences and opportunities including performing at venues such as, Her Majesty's theatre, Sadler's Wells, Royal Albert Hall and Disneyland Resort Paris.
Outside of ARTS I have been involved in many amateur dramatics groups performing all sorts of different shoes from pantomime's to Mozart Amadeus.
Having loved being involved in the performing arts industry as a hobby for so long, I decided to take my studies further and went to college to do a BTEC National Diploma in Performing Arts (Dance) enabling me to persue it as a career. Whilst at college I studied lots of different aspects and styles of dance as well as venturing into drama, musical theatre and business side of the performing arts. College also provided me with lots of different opportunities including modelling for a hair product company. While at college I wanted to take my dancing onto cruise ships and other holiday destinations but having had the opportunity to teach my own classes here at ARTS I feel that maybe this is now the career path I wish to take.
I am very lucky to have the chance to pass on some of my knowledge to the students here at ARTS. My main focus is on students in the junior school. I still attend classes here myself and am working towards some more teaching qualifications in different dance styles which is very exciting!
During the day I work for Oasis within Debenhams in Norwich which I love and during the evening I am at ARTS either teaching or attending my own classes which I enjoy equally as much. When you see all your hard work resulting in something like the school show it makes you so proud to be part of the ARTS family. I am looking forward to many more happy years here at ARTS! |
