Craig Catchpole - Singer / Performer

Welcome to Craig Catchpoles CD release page. Craig is one of ARTS all-round talents who for many years has been learning his craft by performing and gaining valuable experience you simply can't buy.

I was really pleased when I was asked to help Craig with this project, and now I feel proud to have been associated with this young talent who I have no doubt will succeed in anything he chooses to do.

When listening to the sound bites I have prepared for this web page please remember there are no fancy overdubs or pitch alterations etc on these recordings they are simply Craig singing in a live situation, just him, me and the piano, this is exactly how he sounds.

Craig Writes: The Recording

Way back in August of 2006 whilst watching “Footloose” in London's West End, I was thinking about what I could have for my 16th birthday. I thought that maybe the time was right to record my voice onto a CD so that I could see what I sounded like. So, a couple of months and e-mails later, Andrew and I got together to decide which tracks I was going to record and then we started to record them the following week. We took 8 tracks to put on the CD from about 15 that I had put forward to him.

Before I knew it I was recording. From the moment I put the headphones on and recorded my first song to the very last note of the last song, I just got transported to another world. It was so amazing to finally hear and realise what I sound like to other people. After recording all tracks, (some took longer than others) I left it to Andy to put the tracks onto C.D. I also gave him some pictures of me to make the front cover and put the finishing touches to the CD so that it looked really professional.

On the morning of Monday 17th December, I woke up to find the CD lying in front of me. I quickly rushed to the stereo to play it. It was just incredible. To finally hear myself after all the years of singing lessons just put the biggest smile on my face. Mainly thanks to Andy for his hard work and time, my CD has been played over and over again to my family and friends and will probably still be playing for generations to come. Thanks Andy, you won't believe how much it's appreciated.

Just a quick note – A big thank you to all the teachers, both present and past, who have taught me in all the various subjects over the years. You have all helped me achieve so much and given me confidence and many wonderful opportunities; doing the things I enjoy so much.
